Terms and Conditions

The Fire Safety Document and Hot Tub Rules Safety Document must be read as part of these terms and conditions

Check In and Check Out Times Guests are welcomed after 4pm on the day of arrival and are requested to vacate their rooms by 10am on the day of departure. If we are able to offer an earlier check in or later check out, we will let you know but this may not be known until the actual day. Charges will apply for  any unauthorised late check out.

Refundable Damage Bond A damage bond of £100 is pre-authorised from your credit/debit card a few days prior to arrival and is automatically released after 7 days if it hasn’t been required. The money isn’t actually taken, just ring-fenced in case of damage. We will charge your credit/debit card held against your booking should any damage caused by you or member of your party including dogs fall short of the damage bond held on your account.

Booking Deposits and Cancellations A non-refundable booking fee/deposit per unit is required to hold the dates. The balance of your stay must be paid 28 days before arrival. If the booking is cancelled less than 28 days before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. If the booking is cancelled 28 days or more before arrival then the booking fee/deposit will not be returned. In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged. We strongly advise guests to take out travel insurance* in case of cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances to cover cases such as – bereavement, medical appointments, medical conditions including Covid-19, illness, adverse weather conditions etc. to include all guests on the booking. Cancellations can only be accepted in writing either by post or email, your stay is NOT cancelled until you receive a cancellation confirmation from Mount Pleasant Hideaway. If we are able to re-sell your holiday once cancelled, a refund will be made which may be less than you paid depending on actual resale value due to any discounts which may have to be offered and minus a fee of £15 to cover administration and credit/debit card costs as well as the non-refundable booking fee. Your bank may offer travel insurance linked to your bank account and may be worth checking before purchasing a separate policy.

Amendments or Cancellations by US Should we for reasons beyond our control need to change a booking/room, then we will use all reasonable endeavours to offer you alternative comparable facilities at no additional cost or liability. In these circumstances you may accept or decide to cancel the contract, and accept the return of the booking/reservation fee and any other monies paid in advance. This is the limit of Mount Pleasant Hideaway’s responsibility.

Payments We accept Visa, MasterCard, Maestro or Delta cards via ‘Stripe’ a secure payment platform. We do not accept cheques. Any booking made will be guaranteed against the credit/debit card given and amounts payable will be taken in regard to cancellations.

Hot Tubs We will endeavour to ensure your hot tub is freshly filled prior to your check in time, however, at times particularly in peak periods this may not always be possible. We will keep you fully informed. To ensure water quality is always maintained, daily checks will be carried out and if necessary chemicals may be added or in some circumstances the hot tub will be drained and refilled, this may result in the hot tub not being available for a period of time. We do not allow smoking in the hot tub. We will not be held accountable should there be a water shortage for any reason including but not limited to; a hosepipe ban or water outage imposed by Dwr Cymru. Hot Tub Rules Safety Document

  • Shower with soap and water before and after using the hot tub. Showering before washes away common skin bacteria and removes creams and lotions that reduce the effectiveness of the hot tub sanitizer which is added to disinfect the water. Showering afterwards rinses off residue from the sanitizing agents.
  • During pregnancy, soaking in the hot tub may cause damage to the unborn baby so you are recommended to seek medical advice before entering the water.
  • People with skin, ear, eye, genital or any other body infection, open sores or wounds should not use the hot tub due to the risk of spreading infection or irritating the condition.
  • Never use the hot tub whilst under the influence of narcotics or other drugs that may cause drowsiness, sleepiness or raise/lower blood pressure.
  • The heat from the hot tub water speeds up the effects of alcohol and may cause sleepiness, dizziness and could lead to unconsciousness.
  • Like swimming avoid using the hot tub immediately after a heavy meal.
  • Avoid using the hot tub immediately after exercising as the water temperature can affect heart rate.
  • At 39-40 degrees C (102f – 104f) limit your time in the hot tub to a maximum of 20 minutes as extending the time at this temperature can affect your inner organs and can cause fever-like conditions. At 36-37 degrees C (97f – 99f) this time can be extended as this is normal body temperature.
  • Do not immerse you head under the water as this increases the risk of infection and heightens the danger of drowning.
  • Never use the hot tub alone.
  • Take care when entering and leaving the hot tub. After bathing your leg muscles may become relaxed enough to make you become unsteady.
  • Never use glass in or near the hot tub as broken glass may be difficult to see in the water and could cause serious injury. Plastic drinking glasses are provided.
  • Do not use electrical appliances in or near the hot tub.
  • Water is sanitised using chlorine to prevent bacteria and legionella. As such the colours of bathing costumes may be affected. We take no responsibility should this occur.
  • If you suspect any fault with the hot tub, please contact your hosts immediately and do not enter the water.
  • Never allow children to enter the hot tub without adult supervision, and ensure the hot tub lid is securely in place when not in use.
  • Do not touch any metal parts once the stove is lit as these will become very hot and therefore have an increased risk of burning.
  • Very hot water is sent from the stove directly in to the tub, please take extra care around the water inlet (top hole)
  • Persons with heart disease, diabetes, high or low blood pressure or any other illness should seek medical advice prior to using the hot tub.
  • Take care on the steps and decking area as these may be slippery when wet.
  • If any allergic reaction occurs, leave the hot tub immediately and take a shower. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention. Contact numbers for local A&E are displayed close to the hot tub. Please also advise your hosts.

Hot Tub Users It is your responsibility to enforce the hot tub rules, the life and health of you and your party is important.

To comply with HSE regulations, the water will be checked daily and adjusted as necessary. We will endeavour to choose a time that’s convenient to you.

It may be necessary to completely drain and refill the hot tub during your stay which may take several hours.
